RATEX USERS'GROUP                  81 Fairfield Rd. Unit 2019, Univ. of CT, Storrs, CT 06268

March 22, 2002

Dear Ratex Users’ Group Members,

The RUG board met on March 1st  and 2nd  in Philadelphia with RATEX Business Solutions (RBS) to plan the upcoming conference and discuss the status of the RATEX product.  Detailed minutes of the meeting will be available soon on the RUG web site.

We are excited about the future of the RATEX product. Great progress has been made on fixing bugs and closing incidents that have been outstanding for quite some time.   Most stores have been upgraded to a 7.x version of RATEX and 7.6 will be available this month.

RBS will be moving to a new office in Plymouth Meeting, PA, sometime during the next month.  We saw the new office, and it is in a nice area with close proximity to hotels, restaurants, and a shopping mall.

The office space includes a training room which RBS plans to use in the near future for training on the RATEX products.   Space is also available for expansion and additional staff if necessary.

Some of you may have noticed a new look for RBS on their correspondence documents or at CAMEX.  We like the new logo and feel it suggests that RBS is forward looking and changing to meet the needs of future users.

With changes taking place at RBS, it is natural to expect some changes in the focus of  the users’ group as well.  As a board, we decided to focus on four areas that provide benefits to our members.  (See list below)

1. Provide networking opportunities - peer to peer

2. Assist users with utilization of products

3. Channel information between users and RBS

4.  Increase users understanding of overall store operation

The plans for the upcoming July RUG conference in Vancouver are being finalized and should be sent out sometime in April.  The session topics were chosen from suggestions collected during last year’s conference.  With all the changes taking place, you won’t want to miss this one!  So mark your calendar for July 27th – July 30th.    We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver.

Sincerely,
Brent Ashcraft
President
